Bob’s Haunted Mirror
You ever have one of those days when you look in the mirror and it just stares back? Like, ‘Really? This is what you’ve become?’
Well, let me tell you about my buddy Bob. Bob found this old mirror at a garage sale. You know, the kinds that look like they belong in a horror movie? The seller said it was haunted. I mean, who would buy a haunted mirror? Bob, apparently.
He’s always been a bit of a thrill-seeker. I mean, the guy once ate a whole jar of expired pickles just to see if he’d survive. Spoiler alert: he did. But the mirror? That was a whole new level of bad decisions.
So, Bob brings this mirror home. And right off the bat, weird things start happening. He claims he sees his reflection smiling back at him. And I’m like, ‘That’s not your reflection, Bob. That’s just a ghost laughing at your life choices.’
But Bob’s convinced it’s a portal to another dimension, where he can be anyone he wants. ‘What if I could be a rock star?’ he asks. I said, ‘Bob, the only thing you’ll rock is a one-way ticket to regret.’
Then he starts talking to the mirror. I mean, really talking. Like it’s his therapist. ‘Mirror, mirror on the wall, why am I so alone?’ I had to tell him, ‘Bob, it’s because you’re pouring your heart out to a piece of glass!’
One night, he gets a little too deep into his feelings. He stands in front of that mirror, wearing nothing but his favourite superhero cape. And he starts crying. I’m like, ‘This is not a superhero origin story, it’s a midlife crisis!’
Then things get weirder. Bob claims the mirror gives him advice. One day, it tells him to invest in Bitcoin. I said, ‘Bob, that’s not the mirror talking. That’s just your desperation for a change.’
But he listens! He puts all his savings into Bitcoin. And guess what? The next day, the market crashes. Bob looks in the mirror and says, ‘You lied to me!’ I said, ‘No, Bob, the mirror is just as confused as you are.’
Eventually, he gets so obsessed that he starts inviting people over for mirror parties. ‘Come see my haunted mirror!’ he says. I’m thinking, ‘Who wants to party with a ghost? I can barely handle my own!’
But the best part? One day, he throws a Halloween party. Everyone’s dressed up, having a good time. Bob stands in front of the mirror, trying to look cool in his vampire costume. But the mirror? It shows him as a clown. He’s furious. ‘This isn’t fair! I’m a vampire!’
I said, ‘Bob, that mirror is just trying to help you. It knows your true self. You’re a clown trying to be a vampire!’
And let’s be real, the only thing scary about that mirror was Bob’s dating life. He’d look in that thing and think, ‘Maybe I’ll meet someone special.’ But the only thing he met was his own reflection, shaking its head in disappointment.
So, after all the craziness, he decides to get rid of the mirror. He takes it outside and smashes it. But the next morning? He wakes up to find another mirror in its place. I told him, ‘Bob, I think you’re just cursed.’
Now he’s got a mirror that tells him what to wear, what to eat, and how to live his life. And I’m just waiting for it to start giving him relationship advice. ‘Bob, your reflection says you should go for it. Swipe right on that ghost!’
So here’s the lesson, folks: If you ever find a haunted mirror, just remember, it’s probably the ghost of your bad decisions staring back at you. Just like Bob.
