Paintballing with Barry Gibb
Some people grieve the fact that they never went swimming with Dolphins.
There is always a chance to do that, but the real sorrow
is so many people never went Paint-balling with Barry Gibb.
No one rues the missed opportunities to watch Bargain Hunt
with John Cooper Clarke, particularly if it has Christina Trevanion in it.
I was never in a book club with Tele Savalas
never joined a wine tasting club with Denis Healy
never went bell-ringing with Laurence Fox
or boxing with Lloyd Grossman.
All of the things we never do
that we never talk about
because we would all rather
risk drowning with a clever fish
who never once dreamt of swimming
with Dave from logistics or Sandra from Accounts.
