talking to 20 yr old man again
but this time ’s not wrong
am not 14.

jesus fuck
the world is burning.

fig

there is a fig tree in my back yard at home.
i have never considered wasps more
than when they appeared and the figs
did not appear to ever ripen.
somehow,
i had thought that all wasps pollinated figs.
overlooking, so casually,
the wasp that only consumes.
fig wasps can be parasitic, depending on the family
well known, but not to the fig. the fig does not know.
the fig is a 14 year old girl,
and the wasp is nearing 21.
the other figs on the tree say that she
should be grateful.
for such attention
from someone older.
and yet she has been eaten from the inside out
and left to rot while still green.
but praised for being enough
to be groomed by an adult.
