Not going to sugarcoat it. Ain’t your momma, ain’t going to kiss it better. Let’s be real here. That first half, they creamed us.
Pulverized.
I mean, they murdered our asses, then handed our murdered asses back to us, then murdered us again!
For fuck’s sake, people, I thought y’all knew better than that! All the time we spent planning, learning, strategizing, practicing, and what for? For us to be made fools of by our opponents? Because that’s what happened. Fools. Utter, contemptible, goddamned fools!
Fools!
Yes it’s hard. Wouldn’t be worth doing if it wasn’t hard. If they let each of us have our own personal trophies at the end of each day, what would be the point? You think that would make it better? Am I not encouraging enough? Am I harshing your buzz? Do I make you feel unsafe?
It didn’t look like that out there today! If you feel unsafe, run faster! If you feel discouraged, dig in! If your buzz is harshed, get higher!
Hold up, hold up, wait, wait, wait…are you crying? Are you crying? No no no, no crying. Tom Hanks told you that. No crying in baseball! No crying in any ball! You want to cry, do it in your momma’s arms…
But I ain’t your momma!
Crying won’t win this. Feeling scared won’t win this. Depression won’t win this. The only thing that’s going to win this is you all getting vicious. Bloodthirsty. I want to hear bones crack and our opponents shout in pain! I want to hear your best wolf growls! I want you to go out there for the rest of this with no mercy, no fear, no doubt!
After all, they’re just children. And you’re the faculty of Gracewood Elementary School! Go out there and show them why we hired you in the first place, which is you being dumb enough to accept so little money for so shit a job.
Go on. Lunch is over.
