The Theme of the Week is Lucky Breaks

Every week our Theme Expert, Teddy, goes into detail on a new theme. This week’s theme is Lucky Breaks.

WHAT IS A LUCKY BREAK IT HAS BEEN SO LONG

According to all dictionaries, the theme of this week, Lucky Breaks, can be defined as an unexpectedly fortunate turn of events, such as when Don Markenbaldi comes out of his house riiiight when you release the paint-filled water balloon from the slingshot, or you are fifty bucks short on your car payment again and SOMEONE slips Uncle Toby a mickey and he blacks out on the couch with his wallet in his front pocket, or when you clip the wrong wire on the bomb they have sent you to defuse but it was a trick, in fact the wires were reversed! and you and the entire class of kindergarteners survive the terrorism event. All of those are examples of Lucky Breaks.

but i am not irish

A common misconception about Lucky Breaks is that you have to be Irish to experience them. But if that were true, how could you explain the unlikely success of Frank Sinatra, who was unmistakably Italian-American? How would you explain the undeniably unlucky rain-of-bullets parade of the Irish-American president JFK?

HOW DID CHARLIE SHEEN GET HIS LUCKY BREAK

Charlie Sheen never needed any Lucky Breaks, he has always gotten by on sheer excess of talent and personal charisma, and making smart financial decisions. Charlie Sheen might have been YOUR Lucky Break, if you had not tried to steal his drugs at this year’s New Year’s bash at his Malibu penthouse. Wrong move, but never fear, good poet, by definition Lucky Breaks always happen when things are looking bleakest, as in your life now.
