A MATTER OF TIME
NASA never called me. They considered my life’s work, temporophysical transference, too ‘fringe’ for their operations, let alone for their government funding.
They had called today.
‘Dr. Mohiuddin,’ said Director Jenning. ‘Thank you for coming. Our Mars rover dug up something unexpected yesterday.’ She guided me toward the computers. ‘Please. Have a look.’
I sat before the monitors, squinted at the photos, and adjusted the view to zoom in. The heap of twisted metal looked like rusted aluminum; the long, dirt-covered objects resembled human bones. Nestled among them, a fabric scrap embroidered with the words: Amelia Earhart Fashions.
