Kazahkstan shudders as flames boil from despoiled yurts. Corpses lie face-down in the bloody high prairie grasses, with axes sticking out of them. Women shriek, clutching babies and running for the woodline. Too late! More dark riders with bows appear on the crest of a hill, and launch their deadly missiles at a herd of innocent, scrambling cows. Their maniacal laughter and the roar of the flames fill the dusk as they urge their miniature horses through the waving grasses, closer and closer and closer…
That’s right, it’s the 2024 World Nomad Games, right here in your own backyard, Astana City, Kazakhstan! Perhaps the peaceful traders in the yurts are not ready, but the rest of the world can’t wait, because an army of more than three thousand warlike, nomadic people is about to descend with sword and torch upon the traditional winter camping grounds of Astana.
They shoot, they ride, they wrestle, but do not cry. They are the world’s nomads, and their knives are sharp for your booty.
Racing through the city streets astride bristling steeds, the warrior nomads shall show no clemency! Lock your doors, keep your women inside, and pray to your dusky gods, for all the good it shall do ye. The nomad army shall hunt you down in your pyjamas, remove your head, and appropriate your cattle and families, burn your winter stockpiles of wheat, and plunder your pitiful stash of coins.
LOOK FOR NO MERCY THIS SEPTEMBER.
The games start on the bleak, bloody dawn of the Ninth.
