‘Your Boss Used the Word Hollibobs’ and more news from the front by Benjamin Macnair

Your Boss Used the word Hollibobs

Your Boss, a man you feared for what he could do to your career used the word Hollibobs, and now you feel disgusted by him, and the years you wasted in a low-paid job.

He used the word, not ironically, but in reality, not for humour, but because he thought it was a word that the youth of today used.

Your Boss is 57 years of age. His children are in their thirties. He has no excuse for using language like that. When asked about it he said, ‘I thought it was a word all of the kids used, and as I am a man of the people, I thought I would use some of their lingo. Thank God it is only three sleeps until the weekend when I will be kicking it again with my homies.’

He will spend the day on the golf course.

An album of duets for fingers on a Blackboard and Violin still not selling

Oh my god, what is that noise? Please make it stop by new age musician Shane Worthington has been out for six months, and is yet to sell a single copy.

The 53-year-old who wrote the album, a duet for Fingers on a Blackboard and Violin said that he is not surprised, but thinks it could have sold at least one copy.

He told us, ‘I have been running my fingers up and down blackboards for years, trying to find the right rhythms and textures to play alongside my Violin playing. and with this album, I feel I made a real breakthrough.’

Shane is single, but you probably already knew that.

Chairleg Farago has a new drummer

Ever since his knee operation in 2022, Chairleg Farago drummer Shane Mcwhirter has struggled to play the complicated arrangements of some of the band’s music and has left to pursue his career as a double-entry book-keeper.

Sprightly 65-year-old Shane says he has no regrets and is looking forward to spending more time with his family. His replacement will be a Roland 808 drum machine.

‘Yes,’ said the band’s lead singer and fellow accountant Barry Shovel, ‘It is a shame that Shane has taken this decision, but we respect it. A drum machine is able to play in time, can remember all of the technical details, and we don’t have to pay it either, so it is a win-win situation for all of us.’

When told about it Shane said, ‘I won’t miss Barry, tuneless, talentless and self-absorbed little pr*** that he is.’
