THE MOST BEAUTIFUL POEM IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

(According to William R. Espy’s Book of Lists, the ten most beautiful English words are gonorrhea, gossamer, lullaby, meandering, mellifluous, murmuring, onomatopoeia, Shenandoah, summer afternoon, wisteria.)

meandering along the Shenandoah,
smelling the wisteria,
murmuring a mellifluous onomatopoeia
lullaby to a beautiful lady in gossamer,
I contracted gonorrhea.
