giving less shits and 1 more by Ken Kakareka

giving less shits

ya hit
an age
and start
giving
less shits.
i walk
my dog
when it’s
dark out
in my
underwear.
the neighbors
see me,
grimace
through
windows.
we never
talk abt.
it.
walk that
extra mile
not to
give
2 shits.

summer thrills

the summer
of 2025
was a
good one.
i gave up
working out
and drank
beer
all summer.
my man-tits
were
incredible.
it was
a sweltering
95 degrees
across
the board.
but
cold beer
felt good.
the amt.
of beers
i drank
in one
sitting
would’ve
affected me
differently
had it been
70 degrees,
but
they went
right thru
me
like a ghost
thru a wall.
my wife
got preggers
that summer
after yrs.
of trying –
we were
ecstatic.
sometimes,
to live
well
results come
bottled up
as
not trying.
