I THOUGHT I SAW YOU
running through the trees,
long hair flowing
as you leaped, taut
gym-toned muscles,
over brush and rock.
I followed you
until I found
the imprints of
impossibly big
feet.
Too Much to Drink
A drunken binge,
a one-night stand,
a man who wouldn’t
show his face,
who left my life
before the dawn.
And now his child,
a hairy,
rock-throwing
bully, too big
for his age.
I can’t find shoes
to fit his feet.
I need to start
drinking.
Again.
