3 LADY PIRATES WHO WERE FREAKS IN THE SHEETS

Yes you are essentially an international expert on pirates, arrrgh! But did you know that three of the world’s most notorious lady pirates were also absolute freaks in the sheets, showing acrobatic agility and prowess on ratlines, masts, and beams, and absolutely scorning to use the lubber’s hole?

Below are 3 of our favorite lady pirates who were also absolute freaks in the sheets.

CHENG I SAO

Although she started out as a flower girl in the Pearl River Delta, Cheng I Sao’s real prowess was in the sheets of Chinese junkers. Among her most famous high-wire stunts was when she would reportedly leap from the sheets of her own boat into the sheets of the enemy’s, and slide down the sheets to the deck. Freaky!

ANNE BONNY

Alongside her friend-in-piracy Mary Read, Anne Bonny positively rode raw the sheets of the 18th century Caribbean, spending most of her free time aloft with a bottle of spiced rum, dressed in man’s pantaloons, a veritable freak in the sheets.

UNCLE TOBY

Oops, Uncle Toby what are you doing in here, you don’t belong, get out.

Uncle Toby only wishes he could keep up with these freaks in the sheets.

RACHEL WALL

Later known as ‘The Mermaid Buccaneer’, Rachel Wall was originally from Pennsylvania but began her career of piracy in Boston. She and her husband and his low companion Schilbert purchased a small boat with which they would lure in passing ships after a big blow (a big blow is a storm) with lovely Rachel Wall standing in the disheveled sheets, crying out for help. When the unsuspecting sailors drew close, lured if you will by her siren song, Mr. Wall and Schilbert would murder them, then help themselves to any nice cargo they had aboard. What is freakier in the sheets after all than a mermaid?
