Dangerous Knowledge
You know that
apples are not the only fruit
but you can’t resist them.
You know that
there is a skeleton lurking
hiding
in a cupboard
or behind a tree,
maybe even an apple tree,
with knowledge
ready
to come back to bite
like a rabid dog.
You know that
excess should be avoided
but still you can’t resist
the magnitude
the plenty
the profusion
of apples
falling from the tree.
You know that
knowledge is dangerous
but fallen fruit is sweetest.
You know enough.
Silent Rage
Listen
to the silent rage
of the caged bird
who will not
sing.
