Gorko Entertainment Editor Mitchell Kennedy has been hard at work in our shared bathroom on a series of YA science fiction novels called Pugs On Rugs. Yes, Mitchell LOVES dogs. After all, his only friend in the world is a small white puppy named @Todd. Below are sneak previews of Pugs On Rugs #16 and #17.

PUGS ON RUGS #16: SIDEWINKLE WHAT HAVE YOU DONE

In this sitting room yet intense canine drama love comes to stay for the domesticated pugs Sidewinkle and Lucy, or has it? There is a new pug on the block and his name is Oliver, and he is a Victorian gentleman, with the charm and je ne sais quoi to dazzle, and perhaps even sweep Lucy off her feet and out of Sidewinkle’s life forever! Sidewinkle must act, and act swiftly! He decides to challenge Oliver to a duel to the death for the possession of Lucy’s paw.

PROGRESS TO DATE: When we told Mitch we thought his plot was a bit old-fashioned, I mean dueling for the hand of a woman? he locked himself in the basement for three days. This morning he called out for water and crackers, then locked the door again. My fucking ten-speed is in the basement.

PUGS ON RUGS #17: SIDEWINKLE on the planet of the pugs

When Sidewinkle and his best pug Matzo get lost exploring a mysterious warehouse, they find themselves accidentally blasted into space aboard the experimental exploratory craft Button Nose Nine, destination: Planet of the Pugs. Coming out of their deep freeze sleep, however, Sidewinkle and sidekick Matzo realize that they may have been intentionally lured onto the spacecraft, and may be the only ones who can save the Planet of the Pugs!!!

PROGRESS TO DATE: We fished this brief description out of the trash back in July. But Mitch often does this to mislead us…we suspect from the growling dialogue he has been practicing in the shared bathroom that Matzo has already reached the surface of the Planet of the Pugs in his Button Nose Lander.
